Truck Accidents Archives

What training do operators need to drive combination semitrucks?

It is no longer uncommon to encounter semis carrying two or even three trailers on Georgia roads. Because truck accidents occur far too often, residents often fear semis carrying only one trailer. When they see a truck with two or more trailers attached, that fear skyrockets to the point where it can affect how a motorist drives near these enormous trucks.

How Georgia ranks in national trucking safety

The nation's trucking industry is more successful than ever. While this is great for our nation's economy, it causes ordinary people to worry about truck accidents. After all, a booming trucking industry means more trucks are sharing our roadways, and collisions with these vehicles typically result in serious and catastrophic physical trauma.

The emotional turmoil of a semitruck crash can be devastating

There are some motor vehicle accidents that seem to happen in slow motion. You might see the semitruck coming straight for you but you can't do anything to stop it. This is a harrowing situation for anyone to be involved in. When you live to deal with the aftermath, you might soon realize that you have more to deal with than just the physical injuries.

Truckers might drive safer thanks to updated cab designs

Truckers are in control of vehicles that weigh around 80,000 or more. These large vehicles have the capability to kill or injure people on the roads just because they are so large and heavy. It is imperative that drivers have technology available that helps them keep everyone around their trucks as safe as possible.

A Cumming woman is struck by a truck, crashes into others

Officers with the Gainesville Police Department continue to investigate a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 24-year-old Cumming woman the morning of Monday, Nov. 13. The 11-car crash occurred near the intersection of West Ridge Road and Georgia Highway 60, also known as Queen City Parkway.

Holiday shipments lead to more semitrucks on the roads

As we move into the holiday season, there are likely going to be more semitrucks on the highway. These trucks serve an important purpose, but they can also be a hazard to other drivers on the road. These large trucks have blind spots that drivers might not be able to avoid. They also carry heavy cargo that can make the truck shift if it isn't secured properly.
