Wrongful Death Archives

Workplace fatality risks have changed some in recent years

Workers in this country have a lot to worry about when they head in to their job. There are many different aspects of working that are dangerous, and these vary from one industry to the next. It is imperative that workers think about their risks in order to try to avoid being injured.

A wrongful death claim is something that can be a challenge

The death of a loved one is a sad situation for anyone to have to deal with. When the death was because of another person's negligence, the tragedy seems to hit a little bit harder. In these cases, you might decide that you are going to take action to avenge the untimely and preventable death.

Wrongful death cases are a bit different for children and elderly

The unexpected death of a loved one can bring on a lot of feelings. When a child or someone elderly is the victim, those feelings might be magnified. In some cases, the death is the result of someone's negligence. This might lead to a wrongful death claim being made.

Take the person responsible for your loved one's death to court

We recently discussed how the rate of deaths in motorcycle crashes has increased. This is a troubling fact because many of these deaths could be avoided if other drivers would just watch for motorcyclists. In fact, in two-thirds of motorcycle crashes that include another vehicle, the driver of the vehicle was at fault for the crash because that driver didn't yield the right of way to the motorcyclist when that right did belong to the biker.

Motorcycle accident deaths increased from 2014 to 2015

Motorcycle accidents have always been a problem, and they have also always been an inherently dangerous event for the motorcyclist. There is no real way to improve the safety of motorcycles. They are open vehicles with few safety features, if any at all. Motorcyclists must rely on their own gear -- a helmet, padded clothing, etc. -- to protect themselves. In other words, motorcyclists rely quite a bit on other vehicle being safe when they are out on the road. Drivers that fail to look out for motorcyclists could be held liable in an accident.
